Is my property Historic?
How old does a property have to be?
Properties eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places, or those designated as Local Landmarks, are at least 50 years old. Properties less than 50 years of age must be exceptionally important to be considered eligible for listing. Even if a property is not quite old enough to be designated historic today, it is important to retain character defining features, so that it can be eligible when the time comes.
